Color Blast

Maybe it’s the fireworks, maybe it’s my recent focus on neon hues, but this cherry red top is quickly becoming my closet fave. I’ve never been a big fan of the color red, but this shade has just the right amount of orange & yellow to make me crazy about it! Those who know me well (yes, that’s you, dear husband) are very familiar with my attraction to sometimes blindingly loud colors.

However, even I know that all bright, all the time can be overwhelming. So, to avoid color fatigue, a careful balance should be struck. That’s why I like to pair this top with my favorite pair of cuffed jeans or this neutral number from Club Monaco. (They are a great office to casual choice).

Oh, and I painted my nails, too, which I rarely do (not sure why). Can you tell I’m having fun yet? Put some color in your life and grab a bright top, sparkly earrings, and paint those nails! I promise, you won’t be able to help feeling a wee bit cheerier!

Like me! (btw, this is me…looking cheery)

It’s Never Too Late

Fashion blues got you down? Let’s face it, sometimes jeans and a cotton shirt are the best a busy girl can muster up! Despite my over-scheduled life, though, I like to step things up a half notch with one fun accessory.

Like a cheerful flower…

(remember this piece?)

Or a vintage scarf…

Maybe even statement earrings will do the job…

Even better, if you left yourself more than negative 5 minutes leeway (like me), try them all together!

So, as you rush out the door to your super important, absolutely urgent appointment don’t forget…it’s never too late to have fun with what you wear! (or publish a blog post at the end of the week…finally I’m back and so glad to be, too!)

The Trench…

…is classic and its timeless appeal is undeniable. But let’s not forget how tremendously useful it is, as well! Already, I’ve worn my newly acquired EmersonMade over-coat everyday this past week. It is absolutely perfect for this funny time of the year between bitter cold nights and toasty warm afternoons. (Gotta’ love Texas weather!).

In the process of adapting to a more ‘Spring-ish” wardrobe, I also pulled a bit of inspiration from Prada’s collection for this season, which was a definite favorite of mine. (If you haven’t seen THESE videos, you really must!)

Can you tell that I am ready for Spring?!

P.S. Regular programming for “Thrifting Thursdays” has been rescheduled for tomorrow…get ready for a special announcement and feature on Friday!

I’m especially partial to this vignette seeing as how leopard is my favorite neutral. 😉
